Temo is a multidisciplinary artist working with writing to construct abstract paintings and prints. Influenced by Korean Monochromatism and Abstract Expressionism, he believes that when writing is created untrammelled and non-transcribed, uncorrected and non-coercive, a vitalist expression is manifested. Through layering and experimental forms of production, such as plaster cast etching and metalwork, his work has been described as both revealing and concealed, personal as well as abject.
Temo Southard (b. London, 2000) started his studies at UAL Camberwell Foundation, later staying on for the BA Fine Art Drawing. On Erasmus to the HGB Leipzig, he studied under Prof. Micheal Riedel and Franziska Reinbothe in Painting and Printmaking for two years. Temo completed his BA at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2025. He exhibits in both Germany and the UK and published his first collection of short stories and non-fiction in 2025.
